JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2012
We hope you and your dogs enjoyed the Christmas period and haven't been too troubled by the ongoing rumbles courtesy of Mother Nature.
During hot weather it is important that your dog has access to plenty of drinking water and shade when they are with you enjoying the wonderful kiwi sunshine.
Please remember to keep your dog safe around swimming pools.
Please also remember that your dog can quickly get overheated when in the car. It only takes a few minutes for the vehicle to heat up enough to cause heatstroke and even death. Leaving the windows open is not enough, and even if you park in a shady spot remember that as the sun moves so will the shade!
It is important to keep on top of your flea control at this time of year. We often have owners complaining that despite treating their dogs they are still having problems.
If you see fleas on your dog then it is highly likely that you will also have fleas in your house. As well as treating your dog it is crucial to treat the whole house as well. Flea eggs can lay dormant for years, so it is a good idea to treat carpets etc and then vacuum as the vibrations can actually cause the eggs to hatch and therefore be killed by the newly applied treatment.
We are pleased to announce that we will soon be stocking flea treatments for your dog, so why not ask us for details during your next visit.
